1pm to 3pm, June 1, June 8, June 15  (three session course)

So you've learned the basics - how to knit the garter stitch, how to purl, how to cast on, how to case off.  You can even read a pattern, sort of.  Now what?

How about knitting a shawl that you can use this summer to throw on when you're out at over air-conditioned restaurants, wearing that cute summer dress?  Why not expand your skill repertoire with some new stitches!  It' time to knit a gorgeous accessory that you can wear and say, "Yup, I made this!"

Prerequisites:  Please be able to comfortably cast on, knit the garter stitch, and have some familiarity with reading patterns.

You will learn:  Knit Front Back, elongated stitches, garter tab, short rows, eyelets, picot bind-off.

Materials (to be purchased before class):

  • Pattern:  Storm Shawl by Joji Locatelli (available through Ravelry); bring printed copy with you
  • Fingering weight yarn:  420-440 yards (usually one skein)
  • Needles:   US7 circular, 24" or 36" cable
  • Stitch markers:  must be able to be opened
  • Scissors, practice yarn, darning needle, point protectors

Please be at least 16 years old and have the prerequisite skill set (as noted above).  Refunds/exchanges will not be made unless the class is canceled by the instructor.  You agree to these terms by registering for the class.
