Knitting: Beginner Cables

Time: Sunday February 8 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Two-session class)
Skill Level: Beginner (Ages 14+*)

Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Learn to Cable knit with this beautiful Cabled Hearts pattern. They can be used as dishcloths, blanket blocks, pot holders, placemats, or however you see fit. You’ll love them, and so will everyone else.  

What You’ll Learn:  The student(s) will be taught how to knit a square cable that they may use as a square for an afghan or pillow.

What You Need to Bring: DK weight yarn (we recommend Dona by Universal Yarn or Ricorumi DK by Universal Yarn), knitting needles in size 6 and 7 (straight or any cable length longer than 16”), a cable needle OR a size 6 double point needle. You must purchase and have ready the following pattern: Cabled Hearts Dishcloth by Cecillia Fameli ($3 on Ravelry).

Skills needed: Students should be familiar with the knit and purl stitches.

*If you prefer to use this as a dishcloth, you should purchase cotton yarn

*We will be working at a pace appropriate for older teens and adults. Please be at least 14 years old unless given prior permission by staff.

• 14–20 days before the first class: Refund minus a 50% administrative fee.
• Fewer than 14 days before the first class: No refunds.
• Seat transfer: If you find a replacement who pays for and takes your seat before the first class begins, you are eligible for a full refund.
