Sewing: Beginner Applique

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner (Ages 14+*)

Join our 3-hour one-session class and continue your journey towards becoming an expert sewist and DIYer by learning the basics of applique! This workshop is designed for Advanced Beginners or those who have taken our Sewing 101 course and want to further enhance their sewing skills.

Prerequisite: General knowledge on how to use a sewing machine OR having taken our Sewing 101 course. We unfortunately will not have time to go over the beginner basics in this class.

Class Structure: Learn how to make a custom banner with appliqued letters and
shapes! This project will guide you into the experience of using interfacing, and creating
your own custom patches and applique and how to attach them! This project will give
great experience for anyone who is looking into creating and customizing their own
clothing and handmade goods, and also thrifted items to give them a unique flair!

Materials Provided: Sewing machines, patterns, needles, thread, scissors, and other
essential sewing tools for use during class.

MATERIALS REQUIRED: Three fat quarter fabric cuts, one package of lightweight to
medium weight interfacing, three yards of ½” ribbon. Please purchase materials from
Stash. We will have a small amount of time allotted at the beginning of class to make
sure everyone has the correct materials

Class Size: Maximum 4 participants to ensure personalized attention and guidance.

If you bring your own machine, please be certain that it is in good working order. We
will not have time to troubleshoot.

We will be working at a pace appropriate for older teens and adults. This class is not suitable for children. Unless you have received prior permission from shop staff, PLEASE BE AT LEAST 14 YEARS OLD.

• Fewer than 14 days before the first class: No refunds.
