Join our 3-hour 6-session BIWEEKLY (October-December) class and continue your journey towards becoming an expert knitter and creating your own clothing, accessories, and home decor! This workshop is designed for advanced beginners or those who have taken our Knitter 101 course and want to further enhance their knitting skills. This is not a beginner class.
Prerequisite: Students should be comfortable with knitting and purling, reading patterns, and performing basic cast-ons and bind-offs.
Class Description:
Join us for a step-by-step sweater-making journey! In this multi-session class, each student will knit their own worsted weight Bistro pullover sweater by Laura Aylor. You’ll learn how to measure for a perfect fit, work in the round, pick up stitches, and master essential techniques like the long tail cast-on and gauge swatches.
Through hands-on instruction, demonstrations, and homework assignments, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to complete a well-fitted pullover you’ll love wearing.
Skills You’ll Learn:

How to knit a gauge swatch in the round and interpret results for the best fit

Measuring yourself or a reference garment to determine correct sizing

Long tail and backwards loop cast-ons

Knitting in the round, including joining and working sleeves

Picking up stitches and shaping your sweater

Reading patterns accurately and managing stitch counts

Making informed yarn choices for your project
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn,
- Size 7 needles with various cable lengths, 16", 24", 32"+
- larger needle (size 8 or 9) for bind-off,
- stitch markers,
- tapestry needle,
- purl strings or waste yarn,
- tape measure,
- printed pattern (Bistro by Laura Aylor),
- favorite pullover for reference.
Class Size: Maximum 4 participants to ensure personalized attention and guidance.
We will be working at a pace appropriate for older teens and adults. This class is not suitable for children. PLEASE BE AT LEAST 14 YEARS OLD.

- 14–20 days before the first class: Refund minus a 50% administrative fee.
- Fewer than 14 days before the first class: No refunds.
