Knitting: Beginner Lace

Time: Sunday, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Two-session class)
Skill Level: Beginner (Ages 14+*)

We heard that lace is making a comeback this year! Join in the fun by learning to knit your own lace garment. This workshop if great for those who know how to knit and purl, but want to expand their knitting skills into a variety of beautiful techniques. 

What You’ll Learn:  The student(s) will learn/practice 

• Knitting lace
• Reading a chart

What You Need to Bring:

• Printed/Digital copy of pattern you can write on
  • You must purchase #289 Mini Scarf by SweaterBabe on Ravelery before class.
• Yarn & needles required for project.
  • 50 yards of Fingering yarn
  • Size US 5 Needles with 24" length cable. 
• Practice yarn & needles. 

Skills needed: How to knit, purl, cast on, and cast off. 

Outcome: Student will learn to knit a lace scarf. Majority of knitting will be finished at home by students.

*We will be working at a pace appropriate for older teens and adults. Please be at least 14 years old unless given prior permission by staff.
